Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux & K8s and Backup Administrator to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration, security, monitoring, and operational support of our Linux systems, Kubernetes (K8s) clusters, containerized environments, and Veeam backup infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the seamless availability, security, and performance of our systems while maintaining robust backup integrity and disaster recovery readiness. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of modern infrastructure technologies and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Linux Systems Administration: Administer, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems and services, ensuring optimal performance, security hardening, and compliance with organizational policies. Responsibilities include monitoring system health, logs, user activities, patch levels, and critical services to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Kubernetes (K8s) Administration: Manage and support Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments, validating configurations, container images, and runtime security against industry best practices. Monitor container activities, orchestration events, performance metrics, and security alerts to maintain a stable and secure container ecosystem.
• Integration and Automation: Facilitate the seamless integration of Kubernetes and container environments with CI/CD pipelines, SIEM solutions, cloud security controls, and centralized logging platforms. Ensure that containerized workloads adhere to vulnerability management and compliance validation standards.
• Backup Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure. This includes monitoring backup jobs, replication tasks, and recovery operations, performing health checks, capacity monitoring, performance optimization, and regular restore testing to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Disaster Recovery and Compliance: Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to minimize downtime and data loss. Ensure compliance with backup retention policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining documentation and audit readiness.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Linux administration, Kubernetes/K8s management, and backup administration.
• Proven expertise in Linux systems administration, including security hardening, patch management, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments, including deployment, scaling, and security best practices.
• Practical experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup job configuration, monitoring, and recovery operations.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, SIEM solutions, centralized logging, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to document processes, procedures, and technical details clearly and concisely.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with additional experience in automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), container orchestration platforms (e.g., OpenShift, EKS, AKS), or cloud-native security frameworks will be given preference. A proactive approach to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies in Linux, Kubernetes, and backup solutions is essential for long-term success in this role.
