Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team within a CMA-regulated entity. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the preparation of financial statements, conducting reconciliations, and providing critical insights to internal stakeholders through timely and precise reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• VAT Compliance and Reconciliation: Prepare and file VAT returns in strict accordance with ZATCA regulations, ensuring all submissions are accurate and submitted within stipulated deadlines. Conduct thorough reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Intercompany and Related-Party Transactions: Record, reconcile, and maintain detailed documentation for all intercompany and related-party transactions. Ensure balances are accurate and supported by complete audit trails to facilitate transparency and compliance.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Perform variance analysis to identify unusual movements and resolve accounting discrepancies with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Documentation and Audit Support: Maintain comprehensive supporting documentation for all financial transactions and ensure audit trails are complete and accessible. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary information and resolve audit queries efficiently.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger accounting processes, including month-end closing activities. Ensure all accounts are reconciled, and financial data is accurately recorded to support the integrity of financial reporting.
• Regulatory and Compliance Adherence: Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure the entity’s accounting practices align with CMA and other applicable regulatory requirements. Proactively address compliance risks and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly advantageous and will be considered a significant asset.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for candidates who have worked within regulated financial services or investment management companies. Direct experience with CMA-regulated entities and regulatory reporting is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end closing procedures, and financial reporting. Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems, such as NetSuite, is desirable.
• Language and Communication: Native or fluent proficiency in Arabic is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English. The ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely is essential.

• Technical Aptitude: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and generate insightful reports. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems is a plus.
• Independence and Collaboration: Ability to work autonomously while maintaining open communication with the Senior Accountant. Keep stakeholders informed of priorities, progress, and potential risks to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Adaptability and Resilience: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. Demonstrate resilience under pressure and adaptability to changing business needs and regulatory requirements.
