Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The SAP Specialist will be responsible for establishing and governing the Total Reliability Program Framework throughout the asset lifecycle in refinery operations. Your core duties will include:

• Asset Criticality Analysis: Lead and perform comprehensive Asset Criticality Assessments for all refinery assets, ensuring alignment with operational and safety objectives.
• Data Collection & Reporting: Gather and analyze data for criticality assessments, conduct workshops, compile findings into detailed reports, and ensure accurate data entry into SAP with supporting documentation.
• Reliability Program Implementation: Champion the adoption of reliability methodologies across all asset types by developing and sustaining reliability programs that drive operational excellence.
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Administer and execute Asset Lifecycle Management procedures, including criticality ranking, SAP Taxonomy, Asset Operating Limits (IOW), maintenance development, and Master Data management in SAP. Oversee SAP-PM implementation and its effectiveness.
• Technical Consultation & Improvement: Initiate and conduct specialized studies to enhance facility and operational asset performance. Provide expert technical guidance in engineering disciplines, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and recommend solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Safety-Critical Equipment Assurance: Adapt lessons learned from benchmarking and safety cases to recommend continuous assurance methodologies. Ensure robust mitigation strategies are in place to address potential threats in major hazard scenarios.
• Team Leadership & Reporting: Lead the Reliability section, report directly to the Project Manager, and deliver periodic outcomes, progress reports, and KPI reviews. Foster a culture of reliability and accountability within multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaboration & Project Alignment: Work closely with the project execution team to ensure full alignment and commitment to the Reliability Transformation Program, a critical driver for the success of this initiative.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline with a strong technical foundation.
• Industry Experience: Proven site reliability background with in-depth knowledge of refinery processes and operations.
• Methodology Expertise: Training in root cause failure analysis methodologies (e.g., Apollo Root Cause Analysis by Reality Charting) and the ability to facilitate RCA and ACA processes effectively.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) is highly advantageous.
• Leadership & Management: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced, critical environment.
• Industry Acumen: Solid understanding of the Oil and Gas sector and asset lifecycle management processes.
• Predictive Maintenance: Experience in implementing predictive maintenance policies to enhance asset availability and reliability.
• Communication & Analytical Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, along with strong data analysis and report-writing capabilities. Attention to detail is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
