Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of critical tasks, including but not limited to:

• Network Security & Firewall Management:
• Design, implement, and maintain **enterprise-grade network security solutions**, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize **Palo Alto Networks firewall platforms** across complex enterprise environments, including **PAN-OS** and **Palo Alto Panorama** for centralized policy enforcement and management.
• Develop, enforce, and maintain **firewall policies, NAT configurations, VPNs, security profiles, and threat prevention mechanisms** to mitigate risks and ensure secure connectivity.
• Oversee **firewall upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle administration** to maintain up-to-date security defenses and minimize vulnerabilities.
• Monitor firewall performance, diagnose complex security and connectivity issues, and implement proactive troubleshooting strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Ensure **high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery** for security infrastructure to safeguard against downtime and data breaches.
• Network Infrastructure Management:
• Support and manage **enterprise-level firewall infrastructure**, including routing, switching, and network connectivity, to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
• Analyze **network traffic and security events** using advanced tools and methodologies to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and potential threats.
• Collaborate closely with **infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams** to align security measures with broader IT strategies and ensure seamless integration across environments.
• Maintain **network availability and performance** across both **on-premises and cloud environments**, ensuring consistent security and operational excellence.
• Cloud & Security Engineering:
• Design and implement **secure cloud networking solutions** within **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**, adhering to best practices for connectivity, segmentation, and access control.
• Integrate **cloud and on-premises security architectures**, ensuring seamless interoperability while maintaining compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
• Advocate for and enforce **cloud security best practices**, including zero-trust models, micro-segmentation, and least-privilege access principles.
• Automation & System Administration:
• Leverage **Python scripting** to automate network and security operations, including monitoring, reporting, configuration management, and incident response workflows.
• Administer and support **Linux-based systems**, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency in operational environments.
• Develop **custom automation tools and workflows** to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce manual errors, and enhance operational agility.
• Security Governance & Best Practices:
• Ensure compliance with **enterprise security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements**, including industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks.
• Conduct **security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability remediation activities** to proactively address potential threats.
• Participate in **incident response, forensic analysis, and root cause investigations** to mitigate security breaches and prevent future occurrences.
• Prepare and maintain **comprehensive technical documentation**, including network diagrams, operational runbooks, and security policies, to support team knowledge and best practices.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field**. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Experience:
• A **minimum of 5+ years of experience** as a **Security Engineer**, with a proven track record in designing, deploying, and managing **firewall solutions using Palo Alto Networks technologies**.
• Extensive hands-on experience with **Palo Alto Panorama and PAN-OS administration**, including centralized policy management and enforcement.
• Deep expertise in **enterprise network security environments**, including routing, switching, VPNs, NAT, IPS/IDS, and threat prevention methodologies.
• Proven ability to **troubleshoot complex network and security issues**, optimize performance, and ensure high availability in large-scale environments.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in **network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, etc.)**, routing, switching, and network security principles.
• Strong knowledge of **firewall technologies, security architectures, and zero-trust frameworks**.
• Expertise in **Linux operating systems**, including administration, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced **Python programming skills**, with experience in automating network and security operations.
• Familiarity with **network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, SolarWinds, etc.)**, performance monitoring, and security event analysis.
