Financial Controller General Manager

Position Overview

As the Financial Controller General Manager, you will lead the Financial Excellence division with a strategic focus on ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of financial operations across all three airports. This pivotal role is designed to drive financial control excellence, enhance operational efficiency, and manage financial risks in alignment with the organization’s long-term objectives. You will play a critical part in shaping financial strategies, optimizing processes, and fostering a high-performing team to support sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control and Compliance

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust financial control strategies and methodologies to ensure the highest standards of financial management. Your duties will include:

• Establishing and maintaining comprehensive financial control frameworks to guarantee adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across all operations.
• Conducting regular financial audits and reviews to validate the accuracy and reliability of financial data while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks by implementing effective risk management controls and processes tailored to the organization’s needs.

Operational Efficiency and Strategic Planning

To drive operational excellence, you will optimize financial processes and workflows by leveraging advanced technologies and industry best practices. This includes:

• Monitoring and analyzing financial performance metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements for the three airports to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.
• Collaborating with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic financial plans that align with the organization’s long-term goals, fostering business growth and sustainability.
• Implementing process improvements to streamline financial operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity across all airports.

Team Leadership and Development

You will lead, mentor, and develop the Financial Excellence team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting clear performance goals, providing ongoing feedback, and supporting the professional development of team members.
• Conducting regular performance evaluations and identifying training needs to enhance team capabilities and align with organizational objectives.
• Overseeing the Controllership and Project Accounting teams, ensuring their activities are fully aligned with divisional and organizational goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

Effective communication and collaboration are essential to this role. You will:

• Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations and alignment with organizational objectives, while communicating financial performance, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions, to maintain compliance and address any financial inquiries or issues promptly.

Budgeting, Financial Planning, and Reporting

You will oversee the development and implementation of the annual budget and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This includes:

• Monitoring budget performance, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions to meet financial targets.
• Providing financial forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic planning and decision-making, ensuring the availability of timely and accurate financial data for budgeting and planning activities.
• Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and standards, delivering accurate and timely financial information for the three airports to stakeholders.
• Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a wealth of experience in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a complex organizational structure.
• Proven expertise in financial control, risk management, and regulatory compliance, with a strong understanding of accounting standards and best practices.
