VMware & Nutanix AHV Administrator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware & Nutanix AHV Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of our enterprise virtual infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across VMware and Nutanix AHV environments. Your expertise will be pivotal in managing virtual machines, clusters, and resources while driving continuous improvement in our virtualized infrastructure. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background in virtualization technologies and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Virtual Infrastructure Management: Administer and support enterprise VMware and Nutanix AHV environments, including the management of clusters, hosts, virtual machines (VMs), resources, and capacity. Oversee lifecycle activities to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business needs.
• VM Provisioning and Optimization: Execute VM provisioning, migration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to enhance efficiency and responsiveness. Maintain a high-performance virtual infrastructure that meets organizational demands.
• VDI Implementation and Support: Support the implementation, administration, and optimization of VMware Horizon VDI solutions, ensuring seamless and secure virtual desktop experiences for end-users.
• Windows Server and Virtual Infrastructure Management: Manage Windows Server environments and virtual infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, configuration changes, and service validation to maintain system integrity and security.
• Disaster Recovery and Incident Management: Lead and support Disaster Recovery activities for virtual environments, ensuring robust backup and recovery processes. Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Infrastructure, Network, Security, Application, and vendor teams to align virtual infrastructure initiatives with broader IT and business objectives. Foster a collaborative environment to drive successful project outcomes.
• Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and support knowledge-transfer activities to ensure continuity and enable team members to leverage best practices.
• On-Call Support: Participate in on-call support rotations for critical incidents, demonstrating responsiveness and technical proficiency to resolve issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications: VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) certification is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in virtual infrastructure administration and support.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong practical experience with VMware and Nutanix AHV virtualization platforms. Hands-on experience with VMware Horizon VDI and virtual infrastructure Disaster Recovery is essential.
• Windows Server Expertise: Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments, including patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
• Troubleshooting and Optimization: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize virtual infrastructure performance to meet evolving business requirements.
• Process Adherence: Solid understanding of ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Release processes, ensuring compliance with best practices and organizational policies.
• Flexibility and Availability: Ability to work onsite in Riyadh or offshore, depending on project requirements, and participate in on-call support as needed.
