Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of security engineers, fostering a high-performance culture through clear goal-setting, performance evaluations, and professional growth initiatives. Ensure the team aligns with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
• Security Strategy and Implementation: Develop and execute comprehensive security strategies to protect the organization’s assets, including networks, systems, and data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures seamlessly into business operations.
• Incident Response and Threat Mitigation: Oversee the team’s response to security incidents, ensuring rapid detection, containment, and resolution. Implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and enhance the organization’s resilience against cyber threats.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, staying abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend security tools, technologies, and methodologies to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to relevant security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain a robust governance framework that mitigates legal and operational risks.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between the security team and senior leadership, translating technical insights into actionable business strategies. Present regular updates on security initiatives, risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders at all levels.
• Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver security awareness programs to educate employees on best practices, reducing human-related security risks. Foster a culture of security consciousness across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven track record in leading security engineering teams and implementing robust security frameworks.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability management tools. Familiarity with cloud security, DevSecOps, and secure coding practices is a plus.
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive collaboration, and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities are essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of current cybersecurity threats, trends, and regulatory landscapes. Certifications such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR compliance are advantageous.
