Director - Project Management & Delivery

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Project Management & Delivery to lead and oversee the strategic execution of high-impact projects within Qiddiya Investment Company. This pivotal role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires an on-site presence to drive excellence in project delivery, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of managing complex, large-scale initiatives while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to achieve operational and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a robust project management framework that aligns with Qiddiya Investment Company’s vision, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of project managers, coordinators, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary liaison between senior leadership, internal departments, and external partners, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and resolution of any project-related challenges.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success. Monitor progress through regular assessments and adjust plans as necessary to maintain momentum.
• Process Optimization: Streamline project delivery processes by leveraging industry best practices, advanced methodologies (such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid), and innovative tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Budget Oversight: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively and expenditures are tracked meticulously to avoid cost overruns while maximizing return on investment.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards, maintaining a strong focus on governance, ethics, and sustainability.
• Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success, report progress to executive leadership, and drive data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate a combination of extensive project management expertise, leadership acumen, and a deep understanding of the Saudi Arabian market. The ideal candidate will possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, PMP, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Over 15 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial role.
• Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or similar credentials are strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects within the construction, infrastructure, or investment sectors, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, JIRA) and advanced analytical tools to drive operational efficiency.
• A results-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering measurable outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
