Position Overview

The Credit Supervisor plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the hotel’s financial health by overseeing the Credit and Accounts Receivable function. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position ensures meticulous billing accuracy, timely collection of outstanding balances, and strict adherence to credit policies and internal financial controls. The role bridges finance and operations, collaborating closely with departments to protect the hotel’s financial interests while fostering professional relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, government entities, groups, and other business partners. By maintaining rigorous credit control standards, the Credit Supervisor contributes to minimizing bad-debt exposure and optimizing cash flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Credit Control & Accounts Receivable Management: Supervise daily operations of the Credit and Accounts Receivable team, ensuring all credit accounts are approved with valid documentation in alignment with hotel policies.
• Credit Application Review: Evaluate new credit applications to verify completeness of required documents, approvals, credit limits, and payment terms.
• Credit Limit & Payment Term Monitoring: Track credit limits and payment terms, identifying accounts requiring managerial intervention or escalation.
• Accounts Receivable Aging Analysis: Regularly review aging reports to proactively follow up on overdue balances and mitigate collection risks.
• Collection Follow-Up: Systematically pursue outstanding payments from corporate clients, travel agencies, government entities, groups, and other debtors to ensure timely settlements.
• Risk Mitigation: Escalate significantly overdue or high-risk accounts to the Credit Manager and Director of Finance, supporting the hotel’s efforts to control Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and reduce bad-debt exposure.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification: SOCPA certification or membership is strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of three years in Credit, Accounts Receivable, or Hotel Finance, with prior supervisory experience in an international hotel environment considered a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of credit control, accounts receivable processes, and financial procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems is essential, with experience in Opera PMS or similar hotel systems highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to thrive under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic is required to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
