Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Android Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Android Application Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, high-performance Android applications that meet user expectations and business objectives. Your work will contribute directly to the growth and success of our digital products.
• Feature Development and Collaboration: Partner with backend engineers and design teams to conceptualize, define, and implement new features that enhance user experience and functionality. Your input will be critical in shaping the future of our applications.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying Android applications in production environments. A proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile solutions is essential.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Expertise in Kotlin, with a strong preference for native Android development.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern Android frameworks, including asynchronous programming with async/await.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and implementing authentication frameworks such as OAuth2 to connect Android applications with backend services.
  • Familiarity with MapLibre or similar map SDKs, including Google Maps, Apple Maps, or ESRI, for location-based features.
  • Proficiency in writing unit tests and UI tests using frameworks such as Mockito or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of Android design principles and adherence to Human Interface Guidelines to ensure a polished user experience.
• Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to evolving technologies, and solve problems creatively. Strong communication and collaboration skills are vital for working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
