Financial Accountant (KSA National)

About the Role

As a key member of Cundall’s expanding team in the MENA region, the Financial Accountant (KSA National) plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our Saudi Arabia entity. This position is integral to the delivery of accurate accounting records, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial initiatives that support both local and group-level objectives. Reporting to the MENA Office Directors and collaborating closely with the Senior Financial Accountant, you will ensure the timely preparation of financial reports, manage intercompany transactions, and contribute to budgetary and cash flow forecasting. Your expertise will be vital in upholding Cundall’s reputation for excellence in financial management while driving sustainable growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial activities, including:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts within strict deadlines, conduct variance analysis between actuals and budget, and support the preparation of annual budgets for the region.
• Intercompany and Cash Flow Management: Process monthly intercompany billing, manage regular payments to the group, and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts while optimizing working capital.
• Invoicing and Receivables: Generate and submit invoices, including those in Arabic, coordinate with project managers for timely delivery, and follow up with clients to ensure prompt payment. Prepare and share Statements of Account (SoA) as required.
• Accounts Payable and Expense Management: Load, verify, and post accounts payable invoices, prepare credit card reports, and ensure all supporting receipts are obtained. Review, approve, and post employee expenses and credit card transactions.
• Banking and Reconciliation: Maintain the cashbook, perform bank reconciliations, and support the preparation of payment runs to suppliers.
• Tax Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Submit VAT and ZATCA tax filings, ensure adherence to KSA tax regulations, and manage GOSI reports while liaising with government portals. Support local audits, year-end reporting, and local content compliance.
• Payroll Support: Assist in the processing of payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Your Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and attributes:

• A fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least three years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within private practice or an international business environment.
• In-depth knowledge of KSA tax regulations, including ZATCA compliance, GOSI requirements, and other local government obligations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong reporting skills, with a highly numerate and analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and time management abilities, with a proven track record of managing competing deadlines and collaborating across departments and geographies.
• Prior experience in or with professional partnerships, engineering firms, or consulting organizations is advantageous.
