At Rixos, we redefine luxury hospitality by blending unparalleled comfort with immersive cultural experiences. Since 2000, our globally acclaimed resorts have set the benchmark for all-inclusive excellence, offering guests a seamless fusion of Turkish heritage, global influences, and bespoke amenities—from world-class dining and live entertainment to serene spa retreats and vibrant family activities. As a Pool Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our aquatic facilities remain pristine, safe, and operational, allowing guests to indulge in unforgettable moments.
This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to contribute to the seamless functionality of one of the world’s most luxurious hospitality brands. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where technical precision meets guest-centric excellence, we invite you to be part of our team.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical, operational, and safety-focused duties, ensuring our pools, water features, and associated systems operate at peak performance:
- Pool Operation & Water Quality Management: Conduct daily inspections and operational checks of swimming pools, children’s pools, and water features, including plant rooms. Monitor and record critical water parameters such as pH, chlorine levels (free and combined), temperature, and other essential metrics to maintain optimal water quality. Adjust chemical dosing systems meticulously to adhere to strict operational and safety standards while ensuring water clarity, circulation, and filtration remain consistent. Maintain comprehensive records of daily water testing and chemical usage, and promptly report any deviations or unsafe conditions for immediate corrective action.
- Mechanical & Technical Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, operation, and maintenance of critical pool equipment, including circulation pumps, filtration systems, strainers, valves, heat exchangers, and dosing equipment. Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as backwashing, filter cleaning, and strainer maintenance to uphold system efficiency. Identify and diagnose mechanical issues such as leaks, unusual noises, pressure fluctuations, or flow problems, and perform minor repairs or component replacements as authorized. Collaborate with Engineering supervisors to coordinate major repairs, procure spare parts, or engage specialist contractors when necessary. Support the upkeep of pool heaters, chillers, UV systems, and automated dosing systems to ensure seamless functionality.
- Chemical Handling & Safety Compliance: Handle, store, and apply swimming pool chemicals with strict adherence to Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) and hotel safety protocols. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during chemical handling and maintenance activities. Ensure chemical storage rooms and pool plant rooms are clean, well-ventilated, secure, and free from hazards. Never mix incompatible chemicals, and immediately report any spills, leaks, or unsafe conditions to prevent accidents. Maintain accurate labeling and organized storage of all pool treatment chemicals to comply with industry standards.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in the Engineering maintenance plan and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Respond swiftly to pool-related work orders and operational complaints, documenting all maintenance activities, defects, readings, and corrective actions. Assist in troubleshooting recurring issues related to water quality and equipment performance. Support shutdown, cleaning, repair, and reopening procedures during scheduled maintenance windows.
- Guest & Operational Support: Ensure all pool systems are fully operational and ready for daily use, aligning with the resort’s high standards of service. Coordinate closely with Recreation, Lifeguarding, Housekeeping, and Engineering teams to address pool conditions, maintenance requirements, and guest feedback proactively.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and guest satisfaction:
- Preferred: A technical diploma or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Water Treatment, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Prior work as a Pool Technician, Water Treatment Technician, or similar maintenance role is highly advantageous. Experience in hotels, resorts, waterparks, or large-scale swimming pool operations will further strengthen your candidacy.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in swimming pool water chemistry, filtration systems, circulation mechanics, pumps, valves, and chemical dosing systems is essential. Familiarity with technical manuals, equipment instructions, and safety procedures is a must.
- Communication: Strong command of basic English is required. Fluency in Arabic is considered a significant asset.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, a meticulous approach to maintenance, and a proactive mindset to ensure operational excellence.
At Rixos, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and guest-centric excellence. If you are passionate about maintaining the highest standards in pool operations and eager to contribute to a world-class hospitality experience, we encourage you to apply and become part of our dynamic team.
