Position Overview

The Contract Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless administration of commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle. This position is instrumental in supporting the effective management of contracts, change control, payment certification, claims resolution, and commercial reporting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with project teams to uphold contractual obligations, mitigate commercial risks, and maintain financial transparency, thereby safeguarding the project’s commercial integrity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration

The Contract Administrator will oversee the full spectrum of contract administration activities, ensuring strict adherence to contractual terms, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This includes:

  • Administering construction contracts in alignment with project objectives and contractual commitments;
  • Monitoring contractor compliance with contract conditions, technical specifications, and project deliverables;
  • Interpreting complex contract clauses and providing expert guidance to project teams on contractual obligations and entitlements;
  • Reviewing and preparing formal responses to contractual correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with commercial and legal frameworks;

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong academic background and relevant professional experience in contract and commercial management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline;
  • A Master’s Degree in Construction Law, Commercial Management, or Project Management is highly desirable;
  • Professional membership with recognized institutions such as RICS, CIArb, ICE, AACE, or equivalent bodies;
  • Proven experience in contract administration, commercial management, or a related field within the construction or infrastructure sector;
  • A thorough understanding of contractual frameworks, commercial principles, and industry best practices;
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively manage complex commercial issues;
  • Proficiency in contract management software and financial reporting tools.
