Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CT - MRI - Nuclear Medicine Radiology Technician - Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for performing advanced imaging examinations, including CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine procedures, while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and operational excellence. This position requires a deep understanding of radiological techniques, strict adherence to protocols, and the ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists and healthcare professionals to deliver accurate diagnostic results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting Imaging Examinations: Perform routine and specialized CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine examinations in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Assist radiologists in conducting complex imaging studies and special procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Patient Identification and Safety: Ensure correct patient identification and site verification prior to each examination. Implement rigorous radiation safety measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all regulatory and organizational guidelines.
- Radiation and Magnetic Field Safety: In CT imaging, remove all radio-opaque materials from patients or equipment that could interfere with image quality. In MRI, thoroughly screen patients for ferro-magnetic objects and provide clear instructions to prevent potential hazards or equipment interference.
- Sterile and Aseptic Techniques: Maintain expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Utilize appropriate equipment and nursing procedures as required for CT and MRI examinations.
- Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections of all radiological equipment under your responsibility, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and compliance with safety standards. Report any issues promptly to maintain operational integrity.
- Patient Education and Communication: Educate patients and their families about imaging procedures, health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. Provide clear, compassionate, and professional communication to alleviate patient concerns and enhance their understanding of the diagnostic process.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in safety protocols, address job-related safety concerns proactively, and uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions.
- Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive patient and organizational information. Adhere to cybersecurity policies, participate in awareness training, and uphold the organization’s code of conduct and ethical standards. Complete mandatory education requirements in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Hold an appropriate radiographic or technological diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Demonstrate at least two years of post-diploma experience in continuous radiological practice, with a proven track record in CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine imaging.
- Licensure and Certification: Possess a valid license to practice as a radiology technician or technologist, issued by the regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS, DHA, or equivalent).
- Language Proficiency: Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset.
- Technical and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with physicians, non-medical staff, patients, and their families. Exhibit strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and care.
