PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Production Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, quality, and efficiency of our production lines while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our production processes. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Quality Assurance & Process Optimization: Monitor and ensure the run-ability and quality of products in alignment with R&D standards. Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.
• Maintenance & Predictive Care: Oversee the preparation and implementation of machine condition reports in coordination with the Maintenance Manager. Lead predictive maintenance tasks, repairs, and project documentation to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Cost Efficiency & Resource Management: Collaborate with the technical and quality control departments to identify potential savings in raw materials and operational costs. Propose and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization without compromising quality.
• Training & Skill Development: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new operators and machine setters. Establish skill matrices for operators, machine setters, and backup personnel to ensure a highly competent workforce.
• Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Conduct weekly Fishbone Analysis sessions to diagnose production issues and implement corrective measures in partnership with the Process Specialist. Drive initiatives to enhance process stability and reduce defects.
• Project Leadership & Innovation: Lead machine-related projects focused on improving run-ability, implementing upgrades, and integrating additional features. Work closely with the Division Technical Manager to align projects with strategic objectives.
• Compliance & System Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines in collaboration with the Process Improvement Department (PID). Maintain compliance with integrated management system requirements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE): Partner with the HSSE team to update Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) and ensure all hazards and risks are properly documented. Contribute to the identification and management of environmental aspects and impacts to foster a safe and sustainable workplace.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively participate in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system. Engage with all applicable levels and functions to drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation.

Qualifications & Competencies

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with a minimum of [X] years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in root cause analysis, process improvement methodologies, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Familiarity with integrated management systems, predictive maintenance, and OH&S standards is highly desirable.
