Your Responsibilities

As an FP&A Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial future. Your responsibilities will include:

• Own the Financial Model: Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models that encompass revenue projections, cost of goods sold, headcount planning, capital expenditures, and cash flow management. Your models will serve as the foundation for executive decision-making.
• Drive Unit Economics: Build and refine unit economics for each SKU, ensuring accuracy and transparency as bill of materials (BOM) costs evolve. Your analysis will provide clarity on profitability and guide pricing strategies.
• Lead Budgeting and Forecasting: Spearhead the budgeting process and deliver accurate, data-driven forecasts. Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Optimize Working Capital and Inventory: Model working capital requirements and inventory levels for a business that operates on a build-to-order model, balancing cash flow efficiency with operational needs.
• Deliver Executive Reporting: Prepare and present board and investor reports that clearly communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Support Commercial and Engineering Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial implications of strategic decisions, from product development to go-to-market strategies.

Your Qualifications

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a proven track record in financial planning and analysis. To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Experience: A minimum of three years in financial planning and analysis, investment banking, transaction services, or a comparable analytical role. Your expertise in financial modelling will be a cornerstone of your success.
• Financial Acumen: A deep understanding of cost of goods sold, inventory management, and unit economics—beyond just recurring revenue models. Your ability to dissect complex financial scenarios will drive informed decision-making.
• Judgement and Transparency: The ability to critically assess assumptions and flag potential risks or inconsistencies. Your role is to ensure that the financial narrative is both accurate and insightful.

While the following are not mandatory, they will enhance your candidacy:

• Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in hardware, manufacturing, or deep tech industries.
• Professional Development: A relevant qualification, such as a CFA, MBA, or progress toward one.
• Startup Experience: Familiarity with dynamic environments where financial models evolve rapidly, reflecting the fast-paced nature of early-stage companies.
