In this critical role, you will lead and oversee the entire spectrum of costing activities, from product valuation and inventory management to budgeting, variance analysis, and month-end closures. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including Production, Maintenance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance—you will ensure seamless alignment between financial systems and real-world operations, fostering transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of financial and operational disciplines, ensuring both precision and strategic insight:

• Cost Allocation and Reporting: Manage comprehensive costing activities for products, production processes, maintenance, subcontracting, and inventory to guarantee accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal policies.
• Variance Analysis and Investigation: Scrutinize purchase orders, material costs, landed costs, and inventory movements to identify and investigate significant pricing and quantity variances, recommending actionable solutions to enhance cost control.
• Operational Cost Monitoring: Oversee production orders, material usage, labor costs, yield, waste, scrap, rework, and overhead expenses, pinpointing root causes and advocating for process improvements to optimize efficiency.
• Inventory and Maintenance Costing: Ensure accurate accounting for maintenance and subcontracting costs, material consumption, stock balances, and order settlements, while coordinating timely closures and reconciliations.
• Inventory Valuation and Reconciliation: Lead inventory valuation processes, including provisions, physical counts, stock transfers, and reconciliations for slow-moving or obsolete inventory, maintaining up-to-date and reliable financial records.
• SAP Costing Management: Coordinate standard costing cycles, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), routings, production versions, costing runs, and standard cost updates within SAP, ensuring seamless integration and accuracy.
• Month-End Close Leadership: Drive cost allocations, activity rate calculations, order settlements, variance analysis, and journal entries during month-end closures, reconciling costing, inventory, and general ledger balances with precision.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure monitoring, analyzing budget-to-actual variances to inform strategic financial planning and resource allocation.
• Cost Estimation and Decision Support: Develop new product cost estimates and provide in-depth cost analyses to guide pricing strategies, profitability assessments, make-or-buy decisions, and investment evaluations.
• Reporting and Analytics: Design and maintain costing reports, dashboards, and management analyses, ensuring data integrity and contributing to continuous improvements in SAP and finance systems.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, procedures, and approval requirements to mitigate risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Process Improvement and Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies, delivering financial insights to cross-functional teams to drive sustainable improvements.
• Team Leadership and Development: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance reviews to Costing team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in task execution.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

We are seeking a motivated finance professional with a strong foundation in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or financial analysis. Your expertise will be complemented by:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost Accounting, or a related discipline, coupled with a professional certification such as CMA, CPA, ACCA, SOCPA, or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in SAP Controlling, Material Management, or Production Planning, demonstrating proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• A track record of cost accounting, inventory control, or financial analysis in a manufacturing or production environment, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
