Senior Technical Support Engineer (Compression)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Support Engineer (Compression) to join our team in Dammam. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless operation and performance of our compression systems, which are integral to the energy sector. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in compression technologies, coupled with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and customer support. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, diagnosing complex technical issues, and providing innovative solutions to maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to compression systems, including gas compressors, turboexpanders, and associated equipment. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Customer Support: Act as the technical liaison between Siemens Energy and our clients, providing expert guidance and support to ensure minimal downtime and maximum system reliability. Maintain clear and professional communication with stakeholders at all levels, including engineers, project managers, and senior executives.
• System Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the performance of compression systems. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety, while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, maintenance logs, and incident documentation. Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with internal and external standards. Provide actionable insights to improve system performance and prevent future issues.
• Training and Knowledge Sharing: Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients and internal teams to enhance their understanding of compression systems and best practices for operation and maintenance. Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Project Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to support the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of compression systems. Provide technical expertise during the planning and execution phases to ensure successful project delivery.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all technical activities comply with Siemens Energy’s safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Promote a safety-first culture and take proactive measures to mitigate risks associated with compression systems.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or advanced certification in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in technical support, maintenance, or engineering roles within the compression or oil and gas industry. Prior experience with Siemens Energy or similar multinational corporations is a strong advantage.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of compression technologies, including gas compressors, turboexpanders, and associated control systems. Proficiency in diagnostic tools, software, and equipment used in the industry. Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASME is essential.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other industry-recognized credentials are beneficial.
