Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance professional to join our team as a Showroom Accountant. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing cash and bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, supplier ledgers, VAT compliance, and month-end closing processes for our expanding cars business. The ideal candidate will bring 3–4 years of relevant experience, hold an ACCA or Part-Qualified CA certification (or equivalent), and possess fluency in both Arabic and English. Experience in process improvement and automation will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Cash, Bank & Receipts

• Oversee all cash and bank-related matters for the cars business, including issuing and controlling receipts.
• Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved on the same day.
• Prepare and submit daily income and expense reports, ensuring full reconciliation with bank records.

Inventory Accounting

• Maintain and update inventory ledgers, accurately recording daily movements and sales activities.
• Conduct periodic and surprise stock counts to verify inventory accuracy and investigate any variances.
• Analyze inventory aging to identify slow-moving or high-risk units and flag them for review.
• Obtain formal sign-off on month-end closing inventory from the Operations team.

VAT & Recording

• Ensure accurate recording of transactions by cost centre and business stream.
• Manage VAT treatment for all transactions and maintain clean, traceable records to support filings.

Supplier & Reconciliations

• Manage key supplier ledgers, prepare statements, and secure sign-offs from the Supply team and suppliers.
• Collaborate with the Inventory & Pricing Analyst to reconcile inventory values, price updates, and profit & loss statements.
• Monitor marketing expenditures against approved budgets and track approvals.

Month-End Close

• Respond to ad hoc finance requests from the CFO and board members in a timely manner.
• Supervise the Finance Analyst in maintaining reporting and dashboards to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Drive process improvements by reducing manual reporting through automation and the implementation of advanced tools.

Communication & Coordination

• Act as the primary liaison between the Cars and Finance teams for all financial matters, including requests, approvals, and follow-ups.
• Ensure clear, documented, and timely communication to align both teams and maintain operational efficiency.

Process Improvement

• Identify manual and redundant steps in current workflows and lead initiatives to automate processes and enhance system efficiency.
• Standardize and document processes to ensure scalability and maintain control during periods of high growth or staff transitions.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, Part-Qualified CA, or equivalent qualification.
• Hands-on experience with cash and bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, supplier reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
• Strong understanding of VAT compliance, cost centre accounting, revenue and cost cut-offs, and financial record management.
• Proven ability to improve finance processes through automation, system enhancements, or workflow optimizations.
