Digital Budget Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Digital Budget Manager to oversee the financial planning, tracking, and optimization of digital departments and projects. In this pivotal role, you will lead the annual and multi-year budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while maintaining rigorous financial oversight. Key Responsibilities

• Budget Planning & Management: Lead the development and execution of annual and multi-year budgets for digital departments and projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial constraints.
• Financial Tracking & Analysis: Establish and maintain budget baselines, monitoring approved, committed, actual, and forecasted expenditures. Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and optimize financial performance.
• Project & Service Budget Oversight: Track IT project, digital product, and service budgets against delivery milestones, ensuring adherence to financial targets and identifying deviations early for proactive intervention.
• Financial Modeling & Reporting: Develop sophisticated financial models, forecasts, and scenarios using advanced Excel tools, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and Power Pivot. Create executive-level dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Cost Optimization & Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive market research, benchmarking, and pricing analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities across licenses, cloud services, infrastructure, and contracts. Assess financial risks, budget overruns, and future commitments to safeguard organizational resources.
• Change & Compliance Management: Manage budget changes, transfers, reallocations, and financial change requests in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Review project cost estimates and evaluate the financial feasibility of new initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Procurement, Contracts, and Digital teams to ensure seamless financial operations, alignment with business objectives, and adherence to budgetary constraints.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in budget management, financial planning, portfolio management, or project management, with a strong preference for roles within IT or digital environments.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and Power Pivot. Experience with enterprise financial software and ERP systems is beneficial.
• Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of IT project lifecycles, technology cost models, and financial analysis techniques. Experience in evaluating licensing agreements, cloud services, development costs, operations, maintenance, and technical contracts.
• Analytical & Strategic Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail. Proficient in forecasting, scenario analysis, benchmarking, and cost optimization strategies. Ability to challenge costs, identify inefficiencies, and propose data-driven recommendations.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences. Experience in preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
• Certifications & Advantages: Professional certifications in Finance (e.g., CPA, CFA), Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2), or IT (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
