Key Responsibilities

As an Interior Designer Engineer at WSP, your core responsibilities will encompass a wide range of design and engineering tasks, including:

• Concept Development & Design Execution: Translate client briefs into cohesive interior design concepts, ensuring alignment with architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) requirements. Develop detailed design plans, 3D models, and renderings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Technical Documentation & Compliance: Prepare comprehensive construction documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bills of Quantities), ensuring adherence to local and international codes, standards, and regulations such as Saudi Building Code (SBC) and fire safety regulations.
• Sustainability & Innovation: Integrate sustainable design principles into projects, incorporating energy-efficient materials, LEED or WELL certification strategies, and innovative solutions to minimize environmental impact while maximizing occupant well-being.
• Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution. Conduct design reviews, present proposals, and address feedback to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Project Coordination & Site Supervision: Oversee the implementation of interior design elements on-site, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. Conduct site inspections and resolve technical challenges as they arise.
• Material & Furniture Selection: Curate and specify high-quality materials, finishes, fixtures, and furniture that meet aesthetic, functional, and budgetary requirements. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging materials, and sustainable product innovations.
• Budget & Timeline Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising design integrity. Monitor project timelines and milestones to deliver results within stipulated deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field from a recognized institution. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIDA, LEED AP) is a plus.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in interior design, with a proven track record in commercial, residential, or institutional projects. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Photoshop, and InDesign. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows is advantageous.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC), fire safety regulations, accessibility standards (e.g., ADA), and sustainability certifications (LEED, WELL).
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
