Medical Science Liaison - Neurology

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Neurology to join our dynamic team at AstraZeneca in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a scientific expert and trusted advisor, bridging the gap between AstraZeneca’s cutting-edge research and the medical community. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and academic institutions to communicate the scientific and clinical value of our neurology portfolio. Key Responsibilities

• Scientific Expertise and Communication: Act as a primary scientific resource for internal and external stakeholders, providing in-depth scientific and clinical insights on AstraZeneca’s neurology products. Develop and deliver high-impact scientific presentations, publications, and educational materials tailored to diverse audiences, including healthcare providers, researchers, and regulatory bodies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and academic institutions in the neurology field. Identify and engage with emerging thought leaders to foster scientific exchange and gather insights that inform AstraZeneca’s strategic initiatives.
• Medical Strategy and Insights: Contribute to the development and execution of medical strategies by providing evidence-based insights derived from scientific literature, clinical data, and market intelligence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Marketing, and R&D, to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of AstraZeneca’s neurology portfolio.
• Clinical Data Dissemination: Lead the dissemination of clinical data and scientific findings through peer-reviewed publications, congress presentations, advisory boards, and educational programs. Ensure that all scientific communications are accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with AstraZeneca’s medical strategy.
• Market Intelligence and Feedback: Monitor and analyze scientific trends, competitive landscapes, and unmet medical needs in the neurology space. Provide timely feedback to internal teams to support product development, market access, and commercial strategies. Represent AstraZeneca at national and international scientific conferences and symposia.
• Compliance and Ethics: Uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, integrity, and compliance with all applicable regulations, including those set by local health authorities and global pharmaceutical guidelines. Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with AstraZeneca’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong academic background in neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related field, along with a proven track record in medical affairs or a similar scientific liaison capacity. The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, or PharmD) in a relevant discipline, complemented by at least 5 years of experience in neurology, pharmaceuticals, or a closely related industry. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.

Fluency in both English and Arabic is highly desirable, as is a deep understanding of the Middle Eastern healthcare landscape. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for advancing neurological health and a commitment to driving innovation in patient care. Prior experience working with global pharmaceutical companies or in a multinational setting is a plus.
