System & Infrastructure, Senior Architect

Position Overview

Master Works is seeking a seasoned Senior System & Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, development, and management of robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions. This pivotal role will focus on creating enterprise-wide architectures that align with strategic business objectives while ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in architecting complex systems and infrastructure, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior System & Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Architecture Design and Development: Define and design enterprise-level system and infrastructure architectures that meet current and future business requirements. Develop comprehensive infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps to guide technology adoption and implementation.
• Multi-Environment Solutions: Design and implement solutions that span on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring seamless integration and interoperability across diverse platforms.
• Technology Evaluation and Recommendation: Assess emerging technologies and recommend scalable, cost-effective solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that infrastructure architectures adhere to stringent security, availability, and performance requirements. Collaborate with security teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement robust mitigation strategies.
• Transformation and Migration Leadership: Spearhead infrastructure transformation initiatives, including migration and integration projects, to modernize legacy systems and adopt cutting-edge technologies.
• Technical Guidance and Review: Provide architectural leadership and guidance to engineering teams by reviewing technical designs, offering expert recommendations, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify infrastructure risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions and ensure business continuity.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with security, network, application, and business teams to align infrastructure solutions with organizational goals and foster a cohesive technology ecosystem.
• Documentation and Standards: Maintain up-to-date architecture documentation, technical standards, and best practices to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance across all infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in systems and infrastructure architecture, with a strong emphasis on enterprise-level solutions.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), virtualization, networking, storage, and operating systems. Experience with hybrid cloud architectures is highly desirable.
• Security and Resilience: Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure security principles, high availability strategies, and disaster recovery planning to ensure robust and resilient systems.
• Architectural Frameworks: Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and industry best practices to guide solution design and implementation.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
