Role Overview

As a Safety Agent at Accor, you will play a critical role in maintaining a secure and compliant environment for guests and employees. Your responsibilities will encompass monitoring hotel premises, conducting thorough inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. This position requires vigilance, proactive risk management, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety across all departments. You will serve as a key resource in emergency response, training, and compliance, contributing to the overall well-being of our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Premises Monitoring: Continuously oversee hotel areas to ensure compliance with safety and security procedures, identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly.
• Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections of guest areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and facilities to detect unsafe conditions. Report incidents, accidents, and risks, and follow up to ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to emergencies, including accidents, fire alarms, and other safety-related situations. Assist in implementing and maintaining emergency response and evacuation procedures.
• Fire Safety Compliance: Ensure fire safety equipment, emergency exits, alarms, and signage are accessible and functional. Coordinate fire drills, emergency exercises, and safety training sessions for employees.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports related to incidents, inspections, and safety observations to support compliance and continuous improvement.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Security, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments to address safety concerns and implement best practices.
• Training and Awareness: Promote health, safety, and environmental standards among employees, ensuring adherence to proper safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.
• Incident Investigation: Assist in investigating accidents and incidents, providing recommendations to prevent recurrence and enhance workplace safety.
• Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with local health and safety regulations and company policies to uphold Accor’s high standards of safety and security.
• Additional Duties: Perform any other safety-related tasks as assigned by the Safety Manager or senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant safety certification is a plus.
• Prior experience in safety, security, hospitality, or a related operational role.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, emergency procedures, fire safety, first aid, and risk assessment.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
