Reliability Engineer

About the Role

As a CBRE Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational integrity of mission-critical systems and infrastructure. This position is integral to the Engineering and Technical Services function, where you will be responsible for delivering proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to sustain the reliability and performance of essential assets. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimizing downtime, optimizing system efficiency, and supporting the long-term sustainability of our operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Asset Maintenance Strategy: Define, design, develop, monitor, and refine comprehensive maintenance plans for critical assets. Provide specialized technical support to sites, focusing on mechanical equipment and fixed assets, to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
• Collaborative Evaluation: Partner with engineering and operations teams to conduct thorough evaluations of assets, identifying opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation. Your insights will drive data-informed decisions to enhance system reliability and operational resilience.
• Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management plans to proactively address reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could disrupt plant operations. Your foresight will help safeguard against potential failures and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Serve as the first line of defense in resolving technical service and equipment issues. Utilize established processes and procedures to troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore systems efficiently, minimizing operational disruptions.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of routine maintenance schedules, system configurations, applications, and technical reference materials. Ensure adherence to all established policies and procedures to uphold compliance and operational standards.
• Innovative Problem-Solving: Apply advanced knowledge of standard principles and techniques to tackle complex assignments. Offer creative solutions that enhance system reliability and drive continuous improvement within your team and across related functions.
• Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship: Coach colleagues by sharing in-depth expertise in your discipline while also cultivating a broad understanding of multiple job functions within the team. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages cross-functional learning and development.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate complex or sensitive information to stakeholders, building consensus and alignment to achieve organizational goals. Your ability to articulate technical insights in a clear and persuasive manner will be critical to driving collective decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of educational background and hands-on experience. A High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma is required, along with 4-5 years of relevant job experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience may be considered. Prior experience in a shift leader or supervisory capacity is highly desirable.

This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and lift or carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. You must demonstrate strong analytical judgment, a willingness to explore new perspectives, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Exceptional organizational skills, an inquisitive mindset, and sophisticated math abilities—including the calculation of percentages, fractions, and financial-related figures—are essential to success in this position.
