Position Overview
HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Division, a leader in naval shipbuilding and a cornerstone of economic growth in Mississippi and Alabama, is seeking a highly skilled Engineer Logistics 3 to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
As an Engineer Logistics 3, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational readiness and maintenance efficiency of our naval systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Logistics and Maintenance Support: Review field support requirements and recommend appropriate tools and test equipment. Establish and manage calibration requirements for field systems and equipment, including all maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Technical Demonstrations and Reviews: Perform maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers, ensuring systems meet performance and reliability benchmarks. Review technical handbooks for adequacy and accuracy, providing recommendations for improvements where necessary.
- Engineering and Logistics Development: Assist in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support strategies, aligning them with customer needs and industry best practices. Contribute to proposal efforts by providing technical insights and cost-effective solutions.
- Configuration Management: Analyze equipment configuration requirements for the LCS Program, ensuring accurate and up-to-date requirements are loaded into the ships’ configuration database (MBPS). Conduct thorough research of Navy systems and equipment data to validate and optimize configurations.
- Customer Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with U.S. Navy customers to resolve complex logistics and maintenance challenges. Serve as a technical liaison to ensure seamless integration of logistics support into operational frameworks.
Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and interpret Navy systems and equipment data. Familiarity with MBPS and a working knowledge of shipboard compartment arrangements and Navy equipment configurations across various ship classes are highly desirable.
- Professional Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is a plus.
