Key Responsibilities

As the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

• Regulatory Leadership: Act as the primary financial liaison with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), ensuring all regulatory submissions are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with local and international standards. Given the majority of communications with SAMA are conducted in Arabic, fluency in both spoken and written Arabic is essential.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and validation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and regulatory reports, ensuring alignment with internal policies, statutory requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
• Audit Management: Lead and coordinate both internal and external audits, addressing audit findings promptly and efficiently while collaborating with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
• Taxation and Regulatory Filings: Manage all regulatory and tax filings for the entity, including thorough reviews of tax returns and ensuring adherence to fiscal obligations.
• Financial Close and Reconciliation: Validate and control the month-end close process, ensuring accurate revenue and cost bookings. Collaborate closely with front-office and operational teams in Riyadh to guarantee completeness and precision in financial records.
• Balance Sheet Substantiation: Facilitate the month-end balance sheet substantiation process (MRP) as a secondary finance owner, ensuring all financial statements are substantiated and accurate.
• Internal Controls and Risk Management: Work closely with line business management and infrastructure teams to establish and maintain robust internal controls, mitigating financial risks and ensuring operational integrity.
• Product and Risk Assessment: Assist in completing New Product Approval cross-functional risk-assessment checklists, evaluating the financial and operational risks associated with new product or business implementations.
• Cross-Functional Support: Provide onshore KSA coverage for other core finance roles as directed by the Head of Finance, KSA, ensuring comprehensive financial support across the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking a seasoned financial professional with:

• A recognized accounting qualification, such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of six years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, or a comparable regulated environment.
• Proven expertise in banking and markets finance, with hands-on experience in product accounting for vanilla markets and banking products.
• Deep knowledge of internal financial systems, including SAP, Janus, BCS, and FIM, along with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional analytical and risk assessment skills, enabling you to identify potential financial risks and propose effective solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating collaboration across multi-functional teams and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
• A proactive and initiative-driven mindset, with the ability to adapt to change and drive operational improvements.
• Fluency in both spoken and written Arabic, given the regulatory communication requirements with SAMA.
