Key Responsibilities

Your role will be instrumental in maintaining robust financial controls, ensuring compliance, and delivering actionable insights across all logistics-related transactions. Key responsibilities include:

• Revenue Management: Accurately calculate logistics-related revenues and monitor financial performance metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives. Reconcile generated revenues against invoices, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with IFRS standards, including deferred revenue recognition. Investigate and analyze fluctuations in revenue, costs, volumes, and margins to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
• Cost Management: Reconcile vendor and logistics partner invoices against internal records (e.g., Air Waybills, shipping rates) to ensure accuracy and cost efficiency. Process and record Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and direct shipping costs while identifying potential revenue leakage, overcharging, or pricing inaccuracies. Facilitate timely and precise payments to logistics vendors, ensuring operational fluidity and vendor satisfaction.
• Reporting & Financial Reconciliation: Prepare comprehensive reconciliations for logistics transactions, shipping gateways, and clearing accounts, ensuring all financial records are audit-ready and compliant with regulatory standards. Generate analytical reports on billing, collections, logistics margins, and revenue analysis to support data-driven decision-making. Collaborate closely with auditors to fulfill data requests and maintain transparency in financial processes.
• Financial Analysis & Controls: Contribute to month-end closing processes and financial reporting, supporting variance analysis and management reporting specific to Salla’s shipping business. Implement and enforce strict financial controls to safeguard data integrity and mitigate risks.
• Process Optimization & Collaboration: Proactively evaluate and streamline logistics accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks. Work seamlessly across cross-functional teams, including Operations, Product, and Account Management, to resolve pending requests, unmapped transactions, and complex financial queries. Leverage your analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and propose scalable solutions.

Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in accounting and logistics finance. Ideal candidates will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, complemented by minimum 3 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within logistics, shipping, or e-commerce environments.
• Hands-on experience in revenue and cost accounting, including vendor invoice reconciliation, COGS, and financial reconciliations. Proficiency in supporting month-end closing processes, variance analysis, and financial reporting is essential.
• A deep understanding of IFRS, with specific knowledge of revenue recognition, accruals, and deferred revenue. Familiarity with shipping and logistics transactions, such as AWBs, shipping rates, vendor billing, and margin analysis, is a must.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP or accounting systems. Experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar data-analysis tools is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify financial discrepancies, revenue leakage, and incorrect charges. High attention to detail is critical for managing high-volume transactional data accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. The ability to adapt quickly to evolving processes and priorities in a fast-paced environment is key.
• Professional proficiency in both Arabic and English to facilitate seamless interaction with diverse stakeholders.
