Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop, refine, and maintain accurate project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic financial goals and operational requirements.

• Monitor project expenditures in real-time, comparing actual spending against approved budgets to proactively identify and address potential cost overruns.
• Conduct thorough variance analysis to assess deviations from planned costs, providing actionable insights and recommending corrective measures to optimize financial performance.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including budget vs. actual comparisons, cost forecasts, and performance metrics, to inform stakeholders and drive informed decision-making.
• Identify cost-related risks and opportunities, contributing to mitigation strategies that enhance project resilience and profitability.
• Ensure strict adherence to cost control procedures, company policies, and regulatory standards to maintain financial integrity and compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to align cost control activities with broader project objectives, fostering seamless collaboration across disciplines.
• Maintain and update cost tracking systems, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all project expenses to support financial transparency.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance cost control processes, introducing best practices and technological solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives, ensuring full compliance with company safety protocols and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) policies.

Required Knowledge and Skills

While not exhaustive, the following technical proficiencies will strengthen your candidacy:

• A strong preference for familiarity with cost estimating tools such as CCS (Candy) to streamline financial forecasting and analysis.
• Deep understanding of cost management, estimation, and change control processes to navigate complex financial landscapes with confidence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with an added advantage if you possess experience with Primavera P6 for project scheduling and resource planning.
• Familiarity with multi-project resource planning to manage financial allocations across diverse initiatives efficiently.
• A foundational grasp of project management principles and techniques to align cost control efforts with project timelines and deliverables.
• ERP knowledge, particularly with SAP, is highly valued and will enable you to leverage enterprise-wide financial systems for enhanced accuracy and reporting.

Experience and Qualifications

We are seeking a Cost Control Engineer with:

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in cost control, project finance, or related financial disciplines, demonstrating a track record of driving cost efficiency and financial accountability.
• Experience in the GCC region is a significant advantage, offering valuable insights into regional financial dynamics and regulatory environments.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline, providing a robust technical foundation for financial analysis and project oversight.
