Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

• Lead Safety Initiatives: Develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, and security policies to ensure compliance with international and local regulations, including Saudi healthcare standards.
• Conduct Proactive Safety Assessments: Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments across hospital departments to identify potential hazards and recommend actionable solutions.
• Investigate and Analyze Incidents: Thoroughly investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents, conducting root-cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve safety protocols.
• Train and Educate: Design, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive safety training programs for staff, ensuring awareness and adherence to best practices in occupational health and safety.
• Support Emergency Preparedness: Collaborate with emergency response teams to develop, test, and refine disaster preparedness plans, conducting drills to enhance readiness.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor adherence to local health and safety regulations, hospital policies, and industry standards, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
• Foster Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with clinical and non-clinical teams to integrate safety considerations into daily operations, driving a culture of accountability and proactive risk management.
• Maintain Safety Documentation: Keep meticulous records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance audits, utilizing digital tools to track performance metrics.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in healthcare safety operations, with a deep understanding of hospital-specific risks and emergency response protocols.
• Expertise in accident investigation, including root-cause analysis, incident reporting, and the development of preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
• Strong security-related skills, including risk assessment, access control awareness, and coordination with security personnel to enhance overall safety.
• Exceptional safety training skills, with the ability to create engaging, tailored training programs for diverse staff groups, from clinical teams to administrative personnel.
• Familiarity with Saudi health and safety regulations, including those outlined by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Ministry of Health.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling you to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and convey safety information clearly.
• A keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including safety management software and data tracking tools.
