Information Technology Manager – Lead IT Infrastructure and Communications for Cutting-Edge Transportation Solutions

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Manager to oversee the IT and communications infrastructure for one of our flagship projects: the electric bus transportation system at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS). This role will involve managing a dynamic team, ensuring seamless system operations, and driving continuous improvement in technology-driven transportation solutions.

As the Information Technology Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our intelligent transportation systems. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will lead the IT & Communications Team, ensuring all operations—from traffic control centers to on-board systems—run flawlessly. Your expertise will be critical in supporting the university’s mission of delivering reliable, sustainable, and technologically advanced transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Team Leadership and Supervision: Manage and mentor the IT & Communications Team, fostering a culture of excellence, technical proficiency, and operational reliability. Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
• System Operations and Maintenance: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the entire IT infrastructure, including stations, traffic intersections, control centers, communication networks, and on-board systems. Ensure 24/7 availability, performance optimization, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Design and execute a robust PPM program to minimize system failures, reduce downtime, and extend equipment lifespan. Schedule and monitor maintenance activities to align with project timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Technical Infrastructure Management: Maintain and troubleshoot critical IT equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, servers, antivirus systems, wireless networks, cameras, and antennas. Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, implementing corrective measures to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Network and Security Oversight: Establish and enforce IT security protocols to safeguard the project’s infrastructure from cyber threats. Monitor network performance, detect vulnerabilities, and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and system resilience.
• Reporting and Compliance: Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track system performance, workload distribution, and technical challenges. Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and fire safety protocols at all times.
• Procurement and Resource Management: Oversee the procurement of materials, spare parts, and equipment required for maintenance and operational activities. Evaluate existing systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency.
• MAXIMO System Management: Manage service and maintenance requests through the MAXIMO platform, ensuring accurate documentation, proper task assignment, and timely closure of all activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Information Technology Engineering, or a closely related field.
