Key Responsibilities

As the Design Manager – Electrical Engineering, your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and managerial duties, ensuring seamless execution from conceptualization to final delivery. Your leadership will be instrumental in:

• Overseeing Electrical Design and Engineering: Lead and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality electrical design solutions, including primary and secondary systems, ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry best practices.
• Specialized System Design: Design and meticulously review critical electrical systems such as earthing/grounding, lightning protection, lighting, emergency lighting, and lighting control systems to meet stringent safety and performance standards.
• Technical Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and review detailed technical deliverables, including Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematics, technical specifications, and electrical layouts, while ensuring strict adherence to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Process and Quality Assurance: Manage design validation, verification, and technical review processes to guarantee accuracy, reliability, and compliance. Facilitate approval workflows to accelerate project timelines without compromising quality.
• Collaborative Project Coordination: Act as a bridge between clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams, including Civil, Structural, Architectural, BIM, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Firefighting, CCTV, Protection, and Secondary Design teams. Ensure seamless integration of electrical interfaces across all project disciplines.
• Strategic Support During Bidding: Provide expert technical support to proposal and estimation teams during the bidding phase, ensuring competitive and technically robust submissions.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Participate actively in design reviews, client meetings, and technical discussions to address challenges, align expectations, and drive project success.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BE/BTech) from a recognized institution.
• Technical Expertise: A minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in electrical design and engineering, with a strong focus on Primary & Secondary Electrical Systems. 10+ years of specialized experience in GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) and AIS (Air-Insulated Switchgear) Substation design is mandatory.
• Leadership and Coordination: Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, coordinate complex projects, and drive technical decision-making with confidence.
• Industry Experience: Extensive experience working on utility and major infrastructure projects is highly preferred, demonstrating your capability to handle large-scale, high-stakes initiatives.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and advanced design tools to ensure compliance and innovation in every project phase.
