This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of our operations while honing your skills in inventory management, documentation, and supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
As our Receiving Clerk, your responsibilities will include:
- Accurate Receiving and Verification: Receive incoming shipments with precision, meticulously comparing quantities, specifications, and conditions against purchase orders and delivery documents. Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly to maintain operational integrity.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and process receiving reports, goods received notes (GRNs), and related documentation to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Maintain up-to-date inventory systems and records to reflect real-time stock levels.
- Supplier and Department Coordination: Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Accounts Payable, and suppliers to resolve receiving issues efficiently. Act as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Quality and Compliance Assurance: Monitor the quality and condition of received materials, adhering strictly to company procedures and standards. Verify supplier invoices and supporting documents before payment processing to avoid errors and delays.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts, stock reconciliation, and organization of received goods. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of items to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient receiving area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Audit Support: Provide receiving records and documentation to internal and external auditors as needed, demonstrating transparency and accountability in all processes.
- Process Improvement: Follow and contribute to the continuous enhancement of company policies, procedures, and inventory control practices to optimize efficiency and reduce operational risks.
Why This Role Matters

By ensuring accuracy in receiving, documentation, and inventory management, you directly support the seamless flow of goods, enhance supplier relationships, and contribute to cost-effective operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in logistics, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration—skills that are invaluable in today’s fast-paced business environment.
Qualifications and Skills
While we value a diverse range of backgrounds, the following qualifications and skills will set you up for success in this role:
- Educational Background: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. While not mandatory, relevant education provides a strong foundation for understanding inventory, procurement, and financial processes.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or a related role. Prior exposure to purchase orders, receiving procedures, and inventory management systems is highly beneficial.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications is essential. Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems is a significant advantage.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Additional languages are a plus, particularly if they align with the languages spoken by our suppliers or in the regions we operate.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments are key. You should also possess problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
At Accor, we believe in empowering our team members to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change.
