As a key member of our multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will collaborate closely with physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, performance analysts, nutritionists, psychologists, and coaching staff to ensure optimal player welfare, injury prevention, and recovery. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining the health and availability of our athletes, enabling them to perform at their peak while mitigating risks associated with the demands of elite football.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of medical responsibilities, demanding both clinical precision and strategic foresight:

• Comprehensive Player Care: Provide day-to-day medical management, including high-quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of sporting injuries and medical conditions. Ensure timely interventions to facilitate swift recovery and safe return to play.
• Clinical Leadership and Emergency Preparedness: Lead medical coverage during training sessions, matches, and competitions, with a focus on emergency response. Develop, implement, and regularly review Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) to ensure readiness for critical situations.
• Advanced Diagnostic Expertise: Utilise your proficiency in musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound and interpret radiological investigations, including X-ray, MRI, and CT scans, to inform accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Collaborative Decision-Making: Work seamlessly with physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and performance teams to guide injury management, rehabilitation protocols, and return-to-performance strategies. Contribute to MDT meetings with evidence-based medical recommendations regarding player availability and training modifications.
• Women’s Health Specialisation: Apply your expertise in female athlete medicine to address unique considerations such as menstrual health, hormonal balance, iron deficiency, bone health, and pre- and post-partum care. Ensure holistic health surveillance tailored to the specific needs of female athletes.
• Pre-Participation and Ongoing Health Surveillance: Lead pre-participation medical screenings and implement ongoing health monitoring to proactively identify and address potential health concerns.
• Clinical Governance and Documentation: Maintain rigorous, confidential medical records while adhering to the highest standards of clinical governance and ethical practice.
• System Development and Innovation: Contribute to the evolution of medical systems and processes within our growing professional football organisation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

To excel in this position, you must possess:

• A **Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent)** with appropriate licensure to practise in Saudi Arabia.
• **Fluency in both Arabic and English**, enabling effective communication across diverse teams and cultures.
• **Extensive experience in sports medicine**, with a proven track record in managing elite athletes, including those in high-intensity, contact sports.
• **Specialised knowledge of women’s health and female athlete medicine**, with a focus on injury prevention, hormonal considerations, and long-term health optimisation.
• **Competency in pitch-side and emergency medical care**, including the ability to make rapid, decisive clinical judgments under pressure.
• **Proficiency in musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound** and the ability to interpret radiological investigations, particularly MRI, X-ray, and CT scans.
• A **strong understanding of multidisciplinary team dynamics**, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physiotherapists, coaches, and performance staff.
• Exceptional **communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills**, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.

While not mandatory, the following experiences will be highly valued:

• A **postgraduate qualification in Sports & Exercise Medicine**.
• **Prior experience within professional football**, ideally in a women’s or elite men’s team.
• **Advanced certifications in pitch-side or emergency medicine**, such as those offered by the British Association of Sport Medicine or similar organisations.
• Experience in **establishing or refining medical systems** within a professional sports organisation, particularly in a growing or emerging market.
