Key Responsibilities

As a Data Center Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment, including structured cabling (both copper and fiber optic) to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
• Hardware Management: Execute hardware deployments and decommissions with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Environmental Monitoring: Oversee and maintain critical environmental systems, including power distribution, cooling, and security protocols, to safeguard sensitive infrastructure.
• Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, leveraging your expertise in troubleshooting to maintain operational stability.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all assets, configurations, and maintenance activities, adhering to industry best practices and ITIL frameworks.
• Collaboration and Planning: Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support capacity planning, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, with a proven track record of maintaining critical infrastructure.
• Expertise in structured cabling, including Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4, and OS2 fiber, ensuring high-speed and reliable connectivity.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, enabling you to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Experience with rack and stack operations, power distribution, and UPS systems to manage infrastructure effectively.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, ensuring clarity and consistency in all technical and operational processes.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments, including elevated or confined spaces.
• Preferred qualifications:
• Data center certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, or CDCE.
• Vendor certifications in Dell, HPE, or Cisco technologies.
• Network certifications like CCNA or JNCIA.
• Experience with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) platforms.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices for service management and operational excellence.
