In this position, you will play a pivotal role in the conceptualization, design, and execution of robust electrical infrastructure solutions. Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of electrical systems, from initial design phases through to commissioning and technical support. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration and adherence to stringent industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Design Electrical Engineer – MV/LV, your core responsibilities will include:

• Electrical System Design: Lead the design of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems, ensuring compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NEC. This includes the development of comprehensive electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, and cable schedules.
• Technical Calculations and Studies: Conduct critical electrical engineering calculations, including cable sizing, voltage-drop analysis, transformer and generator sizing, short-circuit studies, and protection coordination. Ensure all designs are optimized for safety, efficiency, and reliability.
• Equipment Specifications and Coordination: Prepare detailed specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment such as MV/LV switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), power conditioners (PCCs), distribution boards, and UPS systems. Review vendor drawings, IFC (Information for Construction) drawings, and technical submittals to maintain project integrity.
• Earthing and Protection Systems: Design earthing and lightning protection systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices to mitigate risks and enhance system resilience.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Act as a technical liaison between clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors. Facilitate effective communication and coordination to ensure project timelines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.
• Commissioning and Technical Support: Provide technical support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning phases. Troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth implementation of electrical systems on-site.
• Documentation and Reporting: Author detailed technical reports, design documentation, and project updates. Maintain accurate records and ensure all deliverables are aligned with project requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• Minimum 10 Years of Experience: A proven track record of 10+ years in electrical design and engineering, with a strong focus on MV/LV systems in power plants, industrial, oil & gas, or EPC projects.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical protection, coordination, and short-circuit calculations. Proficiency in designing lighting and small-power systems, as well as understanding the intricacies of earthing and lightning protection.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in electrical design software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, and EPLAN. Familiarity with other industry-standard tools is a significant advantage.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
• Industry Standards: Comprehensive understanding of international standards including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NEC. Experience with Saudi Aramco/SEC or similar utility standards is highly preferred.
• Communication and Leadership: Exceptional technical writing and communication skills to effectively convey complex information to diverse stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and lead projects from inception to completion.
