Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Manager – Project Controls, your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial, commercial, and cost management functions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and organizational goals. Develop and maintain comprehensive cost baselines, budgets, and funding allocations while establishing robust forecasting frameworks.
• Advanced Reporting & Analytics: Lead the implementation and management of Earned Value Management (EVM) systems, delivering monthly and executive-level reports that provide clear visibility into cost performance, productivity metrics, and financial KPIs. Utilize advanced tools like Power BI and enterprise systems to create dynamic dashboards that empower data-driven decision-making.
• Commercial & Contractual Oversight: Partner with contract administration teams to review and validate contractor applications, change requests, variation orders, and commercial claims from a controls perspective. Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, including budget approvals, delegated authorities, and financial reporting standards.
• Risk Mitigation & Scenario Planning: Analyze budget variances, develop mitigation strategies, and provide financial scenario planning to support high-stakes decision-making. Challenge contractor cost data rigorously to validate reporting accuracy and drive operational efficiency.
• Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge the gap between Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams, fostering collaboration to ensure seamless financial reporting and alignment with project deliverables. Present technical insights to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
• System & Process Excellence: Develop, implement, and refine business systems, policies, and procedures that enhance financial controls and operational resilience. Leverage industry-leading software such as PRISM, Primavera P6, Aconex, ARM, or similar tools to optimize project performance.
• Strategic Advisory: Support business case evaluations, investment reviews, and funding approvals by providing authoritative financial insights. Ensure that all project financial activities adhere to the highest standards of governance and transparency.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive experience in project controls, with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-discipline projects. Regional experience in the Middle East is highly advantageous.
• In-depth expertise in project controls as applied to large-scale construction and infrastructure environments, with a focus on financial and commercial governance.
• Proficient use of enterprise-level management software, including PRISM, Primavera P6, Aconex, ARM, Power BI, or comparable tools.
• A recognized industry authority with a reputation for solving technical challenges and ensuring high assurance in project deliverables. Your ability to mentor teams and drive excellence will be instrumental.
• Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex financial and technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, from senior executives to cross-functional teams.
• A problem-solving mindset with a focus on analytical rigor, thoroughness, and efficiency. Your ability to connect people, processes, and issues will enable rapid, impactful resolutions.
• Experience in developing and managing business systems, including policies, procedures, and controls that enhance financial governance and project performance.
