Senior Electrical Engineer – Lead Electrical Excellence in a Visionary Cultural Project

In this leadership position, you will oversee the entire spectrum of electrical works—from meticulous design and technical oversight to seamless installation, rigorous testing, and flawless commissioning. Your expertise will ensure compliance with the highest industry standards, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC), international norms, and project deadlines, while driving innovation in power distribution, lighting, and integrated systems.

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager/Project Director, this role demands a strategic mindset, technical precision, and exceptional project management skills. You will collaborate closely with consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams to transform conceptual designs into robust, functional electrical systems that align with the project’s vision and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of electrical system implementation, ensuring every phase adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance:

• Design & Technical Leadership: Review and validate electrical design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals to guarantee alignment with SBC, NFPA, IEC, and international museum standards. Prepare and refine critical documentation, including load schedules, Single Line Diagrams, and As-Built drawings, while providing expert technical support to resolve complex site challenges.
• Power Distribution & Infrastructure: Oversee the installation of comprehensive power distribution systems, grounding, and earthing solutions, ensuring reliability and safety. Manage transformer selection, installation, and protection systems, along with generator integration to meet project energy requirements.
• Lighting & Architectural Systems: Lead the implementation of sophisticated indoor and outdoor lighting systems, including architectural and museum-grade lighting, to enhance the project’s aesthetic and functional appeal. Coordinate cable routing, conduit installations, and electrical room configurations to optimize system performance.
• Low Current & Critical Systems: Direct the installation and integration of mission-critical systems such as addressable fire alarm systems, public address/audio systems, lighting control panels (LCP), CCTV, security systems, and master clock systems. Ensure seamless integration with the Building Management System (BMS) for comprehensive operational control.
• Construction Supervision & Quality Assurance: Supervise on-site electrical installations, conduct regular inspections, and issue detailed snag lists to address non-compliance or quality issues. Foster a culture of safety and adherence to project specifications at every stage.
• Testing, Commissioning & Handover: Oversee rigorous testing and commissioning of electrical and low-voltage systems to verify functionality and performance. Deliver finalized As-Built drawings, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and comprehensive training sessions to ensure smooth project close-out and client handover.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this position, you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, complemented by 5–10 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, with a preference for projects in fit-out, museum, cultural, or large-scale commercial buildings.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, low-voltage (ELV) systems, lighting design, and fire alarm systems, with proficiency in SBC, NFPA, and IEC standards.
• Technical proficiency in industry-leading software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and project management tools like MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage.
