Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic position, you will play a critical role in ensuring that every healthcare project aligns with the highest standards of functionality, safety, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead Medical Planning and Architectural Design Reviews: Oversee comprehensive reviews for inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, and support departments to ensure seamless integration of clinical workflows and operational requirements.
• Develop and Refine Functional Programs: Create and evaluate detailed space programs, departmental layouts, and pre-concept designs that prioritize clinical efficiency and user experience.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage closely with clients, end-users, and design consultants to gather insights on clinical workflows, adjacency requirements, and operational needs, ensuring the final design meets all expectations.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Act as the primary advocate for adherence to stringent healthcare standards, including FGI, JCI, MOH, CBAHI, Saudi Building Code, Municipality, and Civil Defense regulations, guaranteeing that all deliverables meet legal and industry benchmarks.
• Technical Oversight: Review and manage submissions from healthcare design consultants, including shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, finishes, RFIs, and technical documentation, to maintain project integrity and quality.
• Medical Equipment and Clinical Functionality: Provide expert guidance on equipment planning and clinical functionality to optimize the usability and effectiveness of healthcare spaces.
• Consultant Coordination: Facilitate seamless collaboration with architectural, MEP, structural, and specialist consultants to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment with project goals.
• Client Interface: Serve as the key point of contact for all medical planning and architectural matters, fostering strong relationships with clients while delivering transparent and professional communication.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a robust blend of technical expertise, industry experience, and a passion for healthcare design. We are looking for:

• Professional Credentials: A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture with architectural registration preferred. LEED / EDAC certification is a significant advantage.
• Extensive Healthcare Experience: 15+ years of professional experience, with 10+ years specifically dedicated to healthcare/hospital planning and design. 8+ years of hands-on experience in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector is mandatory.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in design, BIM, and presentation software, with a deep understanding of healthcare planning, clinical workflows, and hospital design standards.
• Multilingual Communication: Fluency in both Arabic and English to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and clients.
• Local Presence: Currently based in Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama, ensuring seamless integration into our regional projects.
