Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history reviews, and infectious disease screenings. Document findings accurately and implement necessary precautions to ensure patient safety. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Patient Advocacy and Mobility Assistance: Provide compassionate support to patients with mobility needs, including transfers and the use of mobility aids. Ensure patients feel respected, heard, and well-cared for throughout their visit.
• Administrative Coordination: Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic tests to maintain seamless care transitions. Coordinate with specialists and ensure all necessary preparations are in place for patient visits.
• Supply and Equipment Management: Monitor and manage medical supplies and equipment, ensuring the outpatient department is always stocked and operational. Track inventory levels, check expiration dates, and report deficits or maintenance issues promptly to facilitate timely resolutions.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, vital signs, and care activities in compliance with organizational standards. Ensure all documentation adheres to confidentiality protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Point-of-Care Testing and Procedures: Perform point-of-care testing and assist with simple procedures, such as dressing changes and topical applications, while strictly following infection control protocols.
• Financial and Operational Oversight: Ensure accurate billing for services rendered and collaborate with administrative teams to maintain financial transparency and efficiency.
• Emergency Response and Safety: Act promptly in urgent situations within your scope of responsibility, prioritizing patient safety. Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or environmental hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Cross-Departmental Support: Float to other units as needed, covering tasks assigned by the Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager based on your skills and availability. Contribute to a collaborative and responsive healthcare team.
• Professional Development: Stay current with professional development requirements to enhance your clinical knowledge and skills. Actively participate in training initiatives to support continuous improvement in patient care.
