Key Responsibilities

• One-on-One Career Coaching: Conduct individual sessions to assess trainees’ career goals, strengths, and challenges, providing structured guidance to help them clarify their professional direction.
• Action Plan Development: Work collaboratively with trainees to create realistic, measurable, and achievable career action plans tailored to their unique circumstances and ambitions.
• Resource and Opportunity Signposting: Identify and connect trainees with relevant training programs, networking events, mentorship opportunities, and professional development resources.
• Career Assessments and Progress Monitoring: Utilize career-focused assessments to evaluate trainees’ readiness and progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to ensure continuous growth.
• Collaborative Partnerships: Engage with PSW Case Managers and the Careers Support Manager to align efforts and ensure a cohesive support system for trainees.
• Documentation and Confidentiality: Maintain accurate, confidential records within the PSW SharePoint platform, adhering to strict data protection standards.
• Professional Development: Pursue a postgraduate qualification in Careers Guidance and commit to ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to stay at the forefront of best practices.

About You

We are seeking candidates with:

• An in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by postgraduate trainees across various disciplines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and trust with trainees.
• A commitment to continuous learning, evidenced by a willingness to pursue further qualifications and engage in CPD.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated support services.

Working Within the NHS

As part of NHS England, you will be part of a dynamic organization that values expertise across clinical, operational, and educational domains. The role may involve hybrid working, with an expectation to spend at least 40% of your time in office settings. If you are currently employed within the NHS, your onboarding will be streamlined through an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) process, ensuring a seamless transition. For external candidates, appointments will typically be made at the bottom of the relevant pay band.
