In this pivotal role, you will ensure seamless contract execution, mitigate risks, and foster strong vendor relationships—all while aligning contracts with AECOM’s global business objectives. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in contract management to drive operational efficiency, enhance compliance, and contribute to projects that create lasting value.

Key Responsibilities

As the Contract Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-End Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee contracts from initiation through negotiation, execution, renewal, and closure, ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Strategic Contract Negotiation: Analyze and negotiate contract terms to safeguard AECOM’s interests, minimize risks, and optimize cost structures while maintaining strong vendor partnerships.
  • Comprehensive Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous contract documentation in centralized systems, ensuring version control, accessibility, and adherence to best practices in contract management.
  • Performance Monitoring and Compliance: Track contract performance, vendor compliance, and key milestones, while addressing discrepancies and ensuring alignment with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between legal, procurement, finance, and operational teams to ensure contracts support AECOM’s strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Dispute Resolution and Risk Mitigation: Identify and resolve contract disputes, ambiguities, or compliance issues promptly, leveraging your analytical skills to propose data-driven solutions.
  • Process Improvement and Auditing: Develop and implement contract management frameworks to enhance efficiency, reduce administrative burdens, and identify opportunities for cost savings through regular audits and performance reviews.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Training: Provide guidance to internal teams on contract terms, obligations, and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of accountability and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • 7+ Years of Contract Administration Experience: A proven track record in managing the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and renewal, within procurement, legal, or contract management domains.
  • Expertise in Contract Law and Risk Management: Deep knowledge of contract law, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies to protect AECOM’s interests in high-stakes agreements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software, document management systems, and digital tools to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy.
  • Analytical and Negotiation Acumen: Strong ability to assess contract terms critically, negotiate effectively, and identify risks or opportunities for optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience coordinating with legal, procurement, finance, and operations teams to ensure contracts align with business objectives and operational realities.
  • Dispute Resolution Skills: Proven ability to resolve contract conflicts diplomatically and efficiently, with a focus on maintaining positive vendor relationships.
  • Attention to Detail and Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple contracts simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., NCMA’s Certified Professional Contract Manager or ACP).
  • Experience implementing contract management process improvements or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with vendor performance monitoring, SLA tracking, and contract compliance auditing.

At AECOM, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment where innovation thrives. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for strategic contract management and a desire to contribute to meaningful global projects, we invite you to join our team and help us build a better world—one contract at a time.
