Key Responsibilities

As the BIM Modeler – Infrastructure, your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of tasks, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of digital deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Your work will directly impact design coordination, construction documentation, and as-built model updates, making this role both challenging and highly impactful.

• Infrastructure BIM Modeling: Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive BIM models for a wide range of infrastructure elements, including roads, pavements, stormwater and sewerage networks, water supply systems, irrigation networks, telecom ducts, electrical duct banks, manholes, retaining structures, and utility corridors. Utilize Civil 3D to create surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and pipe networks, ensuring they align perfectly with approved drawings, specifications, and survey data. Maintain strict adherence to project standards, naming conventions, and data requirements while incorporating design changes, RFIs, and technical feedback to keep models current and accurate.
• Drawings and Model-Based Deliverables: Produce a variety of model-based deliverables, such as plans, profiles, sections, details, and schedules, to support infrastructure design and construction. Assist in generating shop drawings, construction documentation, and utility layouts while ensuring consistency between BIM models and associated drawings. Collaborate with technical teams to prepare setting-out drawings, drainage layouts, manhole schedules, and interface drawings, ensuring all outputs reflect the latest approved design information.
• BIM Coordination and Clash Detection: Actively participate in multidisciplinary BIM coordination activities, working closely with Civil, Structural, MEP, Landscape, Roads, Utilities, and specialist teams. Identify and resolve clashes, discrepancies, and conflicts within federated models using tools like Navisworks Manage and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Update models based on coordination feedback and escalate unresolved issues to the BIM Coordinator and relevant engineers. Your role will be critical in maintaining a seamless workflow and ensuring technical alignment across all project stakeholders.
• Survey and Coordinate Management: Work with approved project coordinates, benchmarks, and survey control data to ensure infrastructure models are accurately positioned within the project’s coordinate system. Review and incorporate survey information into BIM models, identifying and addressing discrepancies between survey data, drawings, and site conditions. Support as-built model updates based on verified site survey information, ensuring models remain reflective of real-world construction progress.
• Shop Drawings and Construction Support: Contribute to the production of coordinated infrastructure shop drawings from approved BIM models, preparing essential views, sections, profiles, and schedules required for construction. Provide technical support for RFIs and Technical Queries by delivering precise model views and information, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout the construction phase.
