Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fit-Out

At White Art Ltd Co., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and execution oversight of sophisticated mechanical systems for premium fit-out projects across commercial, retail, hospitality, office, and residential sectors. Reporting to senior management, this role will ensure seamless integration of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems from tendering through to project handover, delivering excellence in technical execution and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the design and coordination of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, ensuring alignment with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Project Oversight: Oversee the entire lifecycle of mechanical fit-out projects, from initial tendering and feasibility studies to final handover, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with architects, interior designers, MEP consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve technical clashes, optimize system integration, and ensure seamless project execution.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project objectives.
• Site Management: Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and testing to verify compliance with engineering standards and project specifications. Address technical issues promptly and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure high-quality procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Saudi authority requirements, including Civil Defense regulations, utility approvals, and local building codes.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and site staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with landlords, base-building consultants, and local authorities to align technical solutions with project vision and regulatory demands.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a strong preference for candidates holding professional licenses or certifications where required.
• Experience: 6–10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 3–5 years dedicated to fit-out, interior construction, or MEP contracting. Proven track record in delivering complex projects in commercial, retail, hospitality, office, or residential sectors.
• Technical Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical design standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and applicable Saudi codes and regulations.
• Specialized expertise in HVAC design, including duct sizing, air balancing, load calculations, chilled-water systems, and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and tenant connections to base-building infrastructure.
• Proficiency in fire protection systems, such as sprinklers, fire pumps, and standpipes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Familiarity with energy-efficient and green-building principles, with a focus on sustainable design solutions.
• Proficient in industry-leading software, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP/Carrier, or similar tools for mechanical design and analysis.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Saudi authority approval processes, including Civil Defense requirements and utility-specific regulations.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptional communication and coordination skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders effectively.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and ensure on-time resolution of site issues.
• Leadership acumen to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in fast-paced fit-out environments, delivering results under tight deadlines.
