About the Role

As an Estimation Engineer at Botanica, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for landscape maintenance projects. Your expertise will ensure that every proposal reflects operational efficiency, market competitiveness, and alignment with our sustainability goals. This role demands a blend of technical acumen, analytical rigor, and collaborative problem-solving to support our growing portfolio of high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Comprehensive Site Assessments: Perform detailed site visits and surveys to evaluate landscape maintenance requirements, project conditions, and operational feasibility.
• Analyze Technical and Commercial Documentation: Review tender documents, scopes of work, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and client specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Develop Manpower and Resource Estimates: Calculate and optimize staffing needs, including gardeners, irrigation technicians, supervisors, and operational personnel, while assessing equipment, machinery, and vehicle requirements.
• Prepare Cost-Effective Proposals: Develop detailed cost estimates encompassing manpower, accommodation, transportation, equipment, materials, consumables, and subcontractor costs to ensure proposals are both competitive and sustainable.
• Create Technical and Commercial Proposals: Draft professional proposals for landscape maintenance contracts and tenders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to client and regulatory requirements.
• Plan Resource Deployment: Design manpower deployment plans and resource schedules tailored to project scopes and service demands, balancing efficiency with operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Coordinate with operations, procurement, and suppliers to obtain accurate quotations and market rates, while supporting management during tender clarifications and negotiations.
• Optimize Cost Structures: Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for efficient manpower and equipment utilization to enhance project profitability and sustainability.
• Ensure Timely Deliverables: Maintain and update estimating databases, rate libraries, and proposal templates to streamline future projects and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a motivated Estimation Engineer with the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Landscape Architecture, Agriculture, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in estimating, tendering, or proposal preparation, with a preference for experience in landscape maintenance, facilities management, or construction estimating.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of landscape maintenance operations, including irrigation systems, softscape design, and equipment requirements.
• Site Assessment Skills: Proven ability to conduct thorough site surveys and assess operational resource needs.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Advanced Excel Proficiency: Expertise in formulas, cost calculations, data analysis, and the preparation of professional pricing sheets.
• Proposal Development: Ability to craft detailed technical and commercial proposals that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.
• Manpower and Equipment Estimation: Deep knowledge of resource planning, including staffing, machinery, and logistical requirements.
