Key Responsibilities

As a **Senior Data Center Technician**, your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities designed to ensure the seamless operation of our data center ecosystem:

• Lead and Execute Data Center Operations: Oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all systems—from servers and storage to networking and power distribution—operate at peak efficiency and availability.
• Incident Response and Escalation: Act as the primary technical escalation point for critical incidents and outages, employing advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose root causes and implement timely resolutions in alignment with enterprise SLAs.
• Active and Passive Infrastructure Management: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of infrastructure components, including enterprise servers, network switches/routers, storage systems, PDUs, structured cabling (copper and fiber), patch panels, and rack configurations. Execute rack-and-stack deployments, hardware refreshes, lifecycle replacements, and decommissioning processes with meticulous attention to detail.
• Facility Systems Support: Collaborate with facilities teams to monitor and maintain critical systems such as UPS, generators, cooling units, and environmental controls, ensuring optimal operating conditions for all data center assets.
• Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to enterprise standards, security policies, and audit requirements while maintaining comprehensive documentation of assets, incident logs, and shift handover reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Foster strong working relationships with Enterprise IT, Network, Security, and Facilities teams, aligning efforts to resolve issues efficiently and drive continuous improvement in operational workflows.
• Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Guide and mentor junior technicians, instilling a commitment to operational best practices and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive Experience in Data Center Operations: A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a data center or mission-critical environment, demonstrating expertise in maintaining and optimizing infrastructure for enterprise-scale deployments.
• Expertise in Active and Passive Infrastructure: Deep knowledge of active infrastructure components such as servers, networking devices, and storage systems, as well as passive infrastructure elements like fiber (SM/MM and copper) cabling, patch panels, and rack configurations. Proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, and deploying these systems is essential.
• Enterprise System Proficiency: Solid understanding of enterprise server, network, and storage platforms, including their integration and interdependencies within the data center environment.
• Power and Cooling Systems: Advanced knowledge of power distribution units (PDUs), redundancy models (e.g., N+N), and cooling systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and reliability.
• Incident Management and Root-Cause Analysis: Proven ability to manage critical incidents with urgency and precision, conducting thorough root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues and improve system resilience.
• Shift-Based Operations: Experience working in a 24/7 shift environment, where adaptability, resilience, and a proactive mindset are paramount to maintaining continuous operations.
