Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical challenges, ensuring our IoT ecosystem operates with precision and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

• Design and Implement IoT Connectivity Infrastructure: Develop and maintain the device-to-cloud connectivity layer using industry-leading protocols such as MQTT, alongside cloud IoT services like AWS IoT Core or Azure IoT Hub. Ensure seamless, low-latency communication between devices and our platform, even at scale.
• Provision and Manage Device Fleets: Build and optimize device provisioning, identity management, and lifecycle workflows for large-scale deployments. Ensure secure and efficient onboarding, authentication, and management of thousands of connected devices.
• Develop Data Ingestion and Processing Pipelines: Create robust data pipelines and processing systems to ingest, transform, and stream telemetry data into our analytics platform. Leverage real-time processing to enable actionable insights for fleet operators.
• Enhance Device Security: Implement and enforce stringent security measures, including mutual TLS, certificate/key management, and secure onboarding protocols. Protect device identities and ensure end-to-end data integrity.
• Orchestrate Edge and Cloud Logic: Design command-and-control mechanisms, remote configuration tools, and over-the-air (OTA) update systems to enable dynamic device management and firmware updates.
• Monitor and Optimize Connectivity Health: Develop observability frameworks, alerting systems, and performance metrics to proactively monitor device connectivity. Continuously optimize for reliability, reducing downtime and improving fleet operational efficiency.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with embedded engineers to define data contracts and work with backend and platform teams to integrate APIs and storage solutions. Bridge technical gaps to ensure seamless interoperability across the entire stack.
• Optimize Cellular and Connectivity Costs: Analyze and optimize cellular data usage, SIM management, and connectivity strategies to minimize operational costs while maintaining high performance.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring a strong technical background and hands-on experience in IoT and cloud infrastructure. Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in IoT, cloud infrastructure, or embedded systems.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proven experience with IoT cloud platforms such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT.
  • Deep understanding of IoT protocols, including MQTT, HTTP, and CoAP, with a strong grasp of networking fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in backend and edge programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Go, or Java.
  • Experience with device security, including certificate management, mutual TLS, and identity authentication.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, message queues, and streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub.
• Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience managing cellular connectivity, APNs, or SIM fleets to optimize network performance and costs.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with time-series databases and telemetry visualization tools for analytics and monitoring.
  • Prior exposure to telematics, automotive, or asset-tracking data ecosystems.
