Reporting directly to the Service Manager, this role is designed for a highly skilled professional who excels in the installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of ABB’s advanced low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) drives. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations for our industrial clients while fostering customer satisfaction and driving the adoption of ABB’s cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic and impactful position, your responsibilities will include:

• Commissioning and Installation Leadership: Oversee the installation and commissioning of ABB’s state-of-the-art drives, including the ACS880, ACS580, ACS800, ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS6000, ACS680, ACS8080, ACS580 MV, and ACSM1, among others, for industrial projects. Ensure flawless execution and provide detailed reporting to customers, ABB’s installed base, and management.
• Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and resolve faults in ABB’s MV and LV drives, including ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS6000, ACS680, ACS8080, ACS580 MV, and ACSM1. Source and replace faulty components such as boards, IGBTs, and thyristors, while managing warranty claims with precision and efficiency.
• Preventive Maintenance and Optimization: Conduct proactive maintenance for a diverse range of ABB drives to enhance reliability and performance. Utilize your expertise to recommend upgrades, retrofits, and system interfaces that align with customer requirements and ABB’s innovative solutions.
• Technical Consultation and Sales Support: Collaborate closely with customers to size, select, and configure ABB drives based on their specific machine and installation needs. Leverage ABB’s proprietary software, such as Drive Window, Drive Window Light, and Drive Studio, to tailor solutions that optimize efficiency and control.
• Customer Advocacy and Feedback: Act as a trusted technical advisor, gathering and reporting customer feedback, satisfaction levels, and technical issues to drive continuous improvement. Contribute to sales initiatives by showcasing ABB’s product strengths and fostering long-term client relationships.
• Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving: Conduct thorough root cause analyses for customer failures, ensuring that issues are resolved effectively and preventively. Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting ABB’s MV variable frequency drives, including ACS6000, ACS1000, ACS2000, and ACS580 MV, with a focus on delivering sustainable solutions.
• Project and Field Execution: Execute tasks under pressure, including travel to remote sites for extended periods, to ensure on-time delivery of projects and services. Adapt quickly to diverse environments while maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety.
• Continuous Learning and Certification: Maintain and expand your technical proficiency through ABB’s upskilling programs, ensuring certification in ABB Motion products, including ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS6000, ACS6080, and ACS580 MV. Stay ahead of industry trends and share knowledge to elevate team performance.
• Expertise in PLC Troubleshooting: Demonstrate deep expertise in troubleshooting ABB’s ACS500 PLC, ensuring seamless integration and operation within complex industrial systems.
• Adaptability and Initiative: Embrace additional tasks as assigned by management to fulfill the evolving needs of the role and contribute to the broader success of ABB’s mission.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, with a strong foundation in automation and control systems.
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the installation, testing, commissioning, and servicing of ABB’s LV and MV drives, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
• Proficient technical communication skills, with fluency in English to engage effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Certification in ABB Motion products, particularly for drives such as ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS6000, ACS6080, and ACS580 MV, with a focus on troubleshooting and system integration.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions under tight deadlines.
• Physical stamina and adaptability to travel to remote sites, work in varied environments, and manage extended assignments with professionalism.
• A customer-centric mindset, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and fostering long-term client relationships.
