Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Architect and Lead Linux/AIX Infrastructure: Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade Linux (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) and AIX environments across physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Expertise in AIX and Power Systems: Specialize in AIX server administration within pSeries architectures, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments, ensuring optimal resource allocation and high availability.
• Automation and DevOps Excellence: Drive the automation of OS deployments, patching, and configuration management using industry-leading tools such as Ansible and SaltStack to streamline workflows and reduce operational overhead.
• Security and Compliance: Integrate robust security controls, CIS hardening guidelines, and SIEM integration to ensure compliance with stringent security standards and mitigate risks proactively.
• Performance Optimization: Conduct in-depth root cause analysis to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implementing permanent fixes to enhance system stability and efficiency.
• Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Collaborate on disaster recovery planning and participate in high-availability testing to ensure business continuity and resilience.
• Technical Leadership and Support: Provide expert-level technical support for infrastructure services, troubleshooting issues, and assisting teams in achieving operational goals. Contribute to the development of comprehensive infrastructure documentation, including incident logs and configuration records.
• Project and Innovation Drive: Actively contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects, leveraging your technical acumen to address challenges and drive innovation in our technology landscape.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• Advanced Linux Expertise: Deep knowledge of Linux OS internals, kernel tuning, and advanced system administration to manage complex, mission-critical environments.
• AIX and Power Systems Mastery: Extensive experience with AIX OS, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers, ensuring seamless operation across enterprise-grade Power Systems architectures.
• Virtualization and Hybrid Infrastructure: Proven expertise in virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and hybrid IT environments, enabling flexible and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Automation and Configuration Management: Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar platforms, along with experience in centralized management tools like RedHat Satellite or SUSE Manager for streamlined patch and configuration management.
• Security and Compliance: Strong awareness of CIS hardening, log forwarding, SIEM integration, and OS-level auditing to ensure adherence to security compliance standards.
• Data Analysis and Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills to diagnose infrastructure challenges, interpret data, and implement effective solutions.
• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent) with a minimum of 6+ years of industry experience, including at least 2+ years in a specialized infrastructure role. An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Linux/AIX certifications) are highly advantageous.
