Our office in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer (PMC) to lead our technical reviews of traffic engineering designs, temporary traffic management plans, and road diversion strategies. In this pivotal role, you will ensure seamless project execution, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence—minimizing disruption while maintaining safety and efficiency during construction phases.

Your Impact

As a key member of our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, your expertise will drive critical decisions that shape the mobility landscape of tomorrow. Your responsibilities will include:

• Technical Leadership: Conduct rigorous reviews of traffic engineering studies, impact assessments, and diversion plans to ensure alignment with project requirements, international standards, and local authority regulations.
• Design Validation: Assess critical elements such as diversion alignments, junction layouts, lane configurations, traffic capacity, construction staging, signage, road markings, barriers, lighting, and provisions for pedestrians and cyclists to guarantee safe and efficient access for all stakeholders.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with highway, utilities, structural, construction, and health and safety teams to resolve design interfaces, constructability challenges, and ensure cohesive project execution.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, road authorities, traffic police, consultants, and contractors to streamline permit approvals, implementation planning, and compliance verification.
• Safety and Compliance: Lead road safety audits, verify compliance with reviewed plans through site inspections, and address findings in revised designs to uphold the highest safety standards.
• Performance Monitoring: Oversee traffic performance during construction, identify congestion or safety concerns, and recommend data-driven improvements to optimize project outcomes.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, review registers, and progress updates to inform PMC management and clients, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Your Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline, complemented by minimum 15 years of specialized experience in traffic engineering, road design, temporary traffic management, and diversion planning.
• Proven expertise in reviewing and validating traffic engineering studies, impact assessments, and diversion proposals for compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• A deep understanding of traffic modeling, capacity analysis, and operational assessments to evaluate the implications of proposed diversions on existing networks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities to collaborate effectively with clients, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with international traffic engineering standards and local GCC regulations, ensuring seamless integration of global best practices with regional requirements.
